Who ever would have thought that adding a backyard patio to a favourite local restaurant would be a complicated thing? Fire and life safety, access, occupancy - all of the regulations that keep people safe in public spaces came into play and a tiny construction project turned into a big permitting challenge. PLACE came in after it became clear to the restaurateurs that this wasn’t going to be simple, and helped to coordinate the team, work with the City to address their concerns, and shepherd the project through the regulatory process to completion.
